  For as long as I can remember I have wanted to work in the Dental Field. As my passion has grown I have become more and more interested in expanding my clinical skills. I enjoy research and education. Not only do I feel a need to educate myself, I also want to spread information to others, both co-workers and patients. The opportunity to advance as a Regional Hygiene Mentor of Operations has allowed me to fulfill my passion for clinical, education and research all in one position. I am actively involved with both the state and national Dental Hygiene Associations. The very first time that I heard of the ADHA my interest was peaked. I have become increasingly passionate about Dental Hygiene. My first ADHA Annual Session was in 2015. I didn’t understand everything that was happening, but I I knew I needed to be involved. Since then I have had the opportunity to attend 5 additional annual ADHA conferences. I was the Vice president of SADHA my Junior year at EWU, and became the President my Senior year. I was chosen as the 2017 District 12 Student Delegate, and I couldn’t have been more pleased to represent our great district. What I learned was that by being involved, I can be a part of the change. I never want to sit passively and allow my career to grow without me. I educated the other students on what was being voted on, and why we vote in a specific way. When it came time to vote on the floor all 11 student delegates looked to me for the answer. I was confident in my decision because I was properly educated to make an informed vote. My mentors, colleagues and friends from my local component and state set an example, and inspired me to be involved. Since then I have been doing everything to stay involved. I helped with planning for the 2017 WDHA HOD in Spokane, was awarded the 2018 Future leader award and attended Unleashing Your Potential in 2019. I have been an Alternate Delegate (2019/2021), a Delegate (2020), and served on Reference Committee at the 2019 Washington HOD. This year as Vice President I have learned even more and grown as a leader. I look forward to supporting our state and making informed decisions on both the House of Delegates floor and with all state activities. It would be my honor and pleasure to represent you all as Washington State President- Elect and a Delegate in 2022. Heartland Dental
