In 2005 I was trained as a driving instructor and have spent approximately 3-6 months per year instructing driving at the Precision Driving Unit. In 2006, I became a member of the MSP Police Vehicle Test Team. The team tests every vehicle that the automotive manufacturers market as a pursuit rated police vehicle. This includes automobiles and motorcycles. The vehicles are tested in acceleration, high speed, braking, dynamics, ease of upfitting, ergonomics and fuel use. The results of these tests are then published and made available to all police agencies across the nation. In 2012, I promoted to the rank of Sergeant and was permanently assigned to the Precision Driving Unit. At this point I received motor officer training and then police motorcycle instructor training.
