Michael Parrottβs Expertise ππππ π ππ I advise senior leaders on how to take data-led approach to planning, forecasting, and analysis by maximizing their investments in Aimplan, the latest Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) solution built on top of Azure and Power BI. πππ πππ πππππππ π ππ πππ ππ πππππ ππ? My first experience in Enterprise Performance Managment came at Anheuser-Busch InBev's global headquarters, as a part of their FP&A team during the SAB Miller acquisition. At the time, a 'new' system was being rolled out globally using Cognos TM1. If you don't know what that is, just imagine excel templates using macros to send data back and forth to a black box. Excel trackers were being updated by small army of FP&A analysts.Β When I first saw Anaplan at McKinsey & Company, I said "this is it". The speed, ease of collaboration, scale of data handled and cloud-first approach was amazing.Β Since then, a wave of cloud-based EPM tools have flooded the market. Each has it's own warehouse, BI interface, and custom skills needed to really develop within it.Β However, the visualization capabilities in these tools tend to be disappointing, leading many companies to extract data into yet another BI tool (e.g. Qlik, Tableau, Power BI).Β These BI tools often leave FP&A teams lacking, as they lack 'write back' and are essentially 'read only' reporting tools. π π Then Aimplan changedβ¦everything. π π Aimplan instantly breaks down the 'fourth wall' in Power BI, allowing write-back and development of applications directly within Power BI. This makes all those expensive point solutions unnecessary, as you can run your EPM entirely within your own Azure environment. Instead of a six-figure investment in a system that requries specialists to run it, you can now spend a fraction of that and use the massive global talent base of Power BI developers to do the work. At 480th, we help clients see, plan and lead on finance, supply chain, and sales strategies that drive business performance using the Aimplan connected planning platform.
