I have served in a variety of voluntary roles both in direct service delivery and on Boards and Committees in the community sector continuously for the last 25 years and am passionately committed to the important work of “civil society” organisations. I have held (and continue to hold) registration as a legal practitioner for the best part of 20 years. In this capacity, I have also experienced first-hand the joys, and challenges, of starting and running a small business and have great respect for all those who do so! The combination of my legal background, which included a focus on advising NGOs on governance, risk and compliance issues, along with my extensive board and executive experience, also provides me with a strong governance skill set.
