  I went to school to become a Financial Planner. So how did I end up as a System Administrator with extensive Microsoft Operating Systems experience and a love for Information Technology of all kinds? Some would call it luck. Others, fate. Me? Destiny. I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Utah with a degree in Finance and after a month of study and becoming licensed I soon realized I didn’t want to be a Financial Planner. I moved on and after working as a Credit Authorizer, I moved from the issuing side of the credit card business to the acquiring side. One day I told my boss that I felt guilty because all I did was come to work and play with computers and he commented to keep on doing it because I was doing an excellent job. Here’s the story - I was talking with the “IT” guy and found out that he was really tired of his IT job, he wanted to get back into finance. I told him he was nuts and that I would love to have his job. He said I could have it, and the rest as they say is history. I became the IT guy and he became the finance guy. I earned MCP, MCSA, and MCSE certificates from Microsoft. In my role as the IT guy I migrated our network from Token Ring to Ethernet. Took the desktops from Windows 3.1 to 95, XP, and Windows 7. I also migrated from Novell to Microsoft Active Directory and ccMail to Exchange. And went from supporting a single server to being on a team that supported hundreds.
