Mohammad Bannayan’s Expertise Creating something innovative necessitates transcending boundaries and thinking expansively across disciplines. I am among those captivated by the allure of multidisciplinary exploration. Originating from a background in crop science, I embarked on my journey into Environmental Modeling during my PhD, focusing on quantifying the performance of biological systems and their interactions with the environment. Subsequently, my research expanded to encompass the study of climate impacts on plants and environmental variability, particularly in the context of elevated atmospheric CO2 levels. Throughout my academic and professional pursuits, I have remained dedicated to the meticulous quantification of plant performance, with climate as the predominant determinant. Along this trajectory, I have honed a diverse skill set, mastering various data analysis methodologies, adeptly navigating extensive databases, and applying mathematical principles to elucidate the behavior of biological systems. Additionally, I have conceived and developed numerous tools and software applications. One notable creation is the "Weather Analogue," a forecasting tool tailored for systems intricately linked to climate dynamics. My expertise extends to a range of software platforms, which I have imparted to countless students worldwide. Presently, I am engaged with Bayer, where I am focused on analyzing data to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. Next to my main responsibilities, I am working on various GHG calculator models and collaborating on initiatives addressing the impact of climate change on global crop production. Leveraging an array of tools, including plant digital twins and machine learning models, I strive to advance our understanding of these critical issues.
