System implemented as a layer over legacy system to make the transformation less risky. Key requirements successfully implemented included: o live updating: when one user commits a change all other users viewing same data have their displays updated automatically without delay or the need to hit any kind of 'refresh' button. o built-in configuration change management: changes can be planned ahead and legacy data can live side-by-side with new data. o highly flexible data structure allows many different kinds of data to be modelled. System operated for 5 years with no code changes: the configurability allowed new functionality to be added to continue providing updated business requirements as they changed.
