In 2019 I took some time to explore sustainable agriculture, and volunteered with FoodCorps and The Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food & Agriculture. It was at Arcadia that I learned the importance of growing food using regenerative agriculture practices. More importantly, I discovered so much beauty in sharing gardening with kids. There’s no better feeling than seeing the pure joy that comes from children after they pull their first carrot or beet out from the soil. Through my own journey learning to grow food at home, I realized other families wanted to start but didn’t know how. I decided to create Growmuse.com to document how I started an edible garden at home. My hope is to inspire beginner gardeners and provide them with the exact steps I took going from zero to 20+ crops in my first season. It’s vitally important I teach my two daughters how to nourish their bodies with the most nutrient-dense foods possible. And it can start right in our backyards, or front yard, in our case. My interests include: Environment & Sustainability, Food Equity, Nutrition, Healthy Cooking, Mindfulness, Non-Toxic Living, Staying Spunky Nationswell
