Make sure that permit to work system is followed. • I assist the Master in all emergency procedures. • I instruct the deck ratings on their daily duties and ensure they carry out them safely. • I ensure that all bridge equipment is functioning correctly. • I’m completing chart work, passage planning, etc., ensuring that all navigational charts and publications are corrected and up to date. Working as SrDPO / DPO : • Operate Dynamic Positioning system of the vessel. • Coordinate moving on or off location, starting or securing the Dynamic Positioning Systems. • Maintain good communications with all involved parties at all times. • Coordinate operations with other vessels. • Work with and assist various groups of key supervisory personnel on the vessel. • Train and instruct assigned personnel as requested by management.
