He is the founder of Pertec Consulting Oy where he worked almost twenty years. Since 2020 he has worked as an independent consultant and top executive coach in his own company focusing mainly on writing. Pentti has written eight books about Intelligent Leadership, which offers a new and innovative approach to contemporary leadership challenges. In developing the intelligent leadership theory and practical model he has examined leadership at seven levels: self leadership, individual leadership, team leadership, virtual leadership, organizational leadership, network leadership and ecosystem leadership. His latest book Global Leadership: How to lead the globe intelligently was published in Finnish 2019. The purpose of this book is to raise wide and deep discussion about the challenges of global leadership and ask is it possible at all to lead the globe intelligently. How does our western democracy function in a more and more chaotic world? Or could Chinese meritocracy be better option? In global leadership we need urgently new and innovative thinking and approaches. Pentti Sydänmaanlakka has also been the Chairman of the Finnish Association of Human Resource Management (HENRY).
