I am currently majoring in Forest and Natural Resource Management at the University of Minnesota, where I am focusing on forest ecosystem management and conservation. Throughout school, I worked at least 20 hours a week for the Silviculture Lab, Urban Forestry Nursery and Domino’s, while being a part of a competitive Club Ultimate Frisbee team, Forestry Club, and Tree Ascension Group. My busy schedule required me to develop good time-management abilities, be disciplined, and organized. While at school I completed a field session at the Cloquet Forestry Center where I learned hands-on experience in the fields of forest biometrics, silviculture, remote sensing, dendrology, and forest ecosystem ecology. While at the field session, I successfully completed a focused team-research project looking at relationships between different bog site cover type species and how they affect the surrounding ecosystem. Upon completion of the forest biometrics class and my job as a field technician I acquired timber cruising skills using fixed and variable-radius plots. During my senior year I worked on a undergraduate research project on jack pine thinning trials under Dr. Andrew David and forester Kyle Gill.
