Rahul Garg’s Expertise As a customer-centric leader, one of my great joys is helping simplify complex problems for customers and enabling success by delivering powerful, effective solutions that support small and mid-sized businesses. Throughout my career having worked at 3 start-ups and now a large enterprise, I have worked closely with SMBs & in technology-led industries to overcome key challenges and drive revenue growth with strategic solutions, smarter services and better business practices. After graduating from Wayne State University in 1990 with a master’s in computer science (and a bachelor's in computer engineering), I followed my passion for technology into the manufacturing and automotive industry, where I worked as a product manager for a start-up. While I was the product lead, I was also responsible for key customer implementations. Once I joined Siemens Software in 2001 as Director for Covisint and Channel Partners, I was able to leverage my strategic insights and years of experience with SMBs to successfully define and develop visualization and collaboration solutions for Covisint, a B2B startup portal for the automotive industry. I also supported our channel program and managed a network of partners helping Siemens partners differentiate in a hyper-competitive market. In 2002, I became Director of Automotive Industry Marketing, where I developed, defined, and executive product development and Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies. In 2009, I became Global Director for Marketing and Communications, where I led the marketing and communications teams across the IA Divisions for three industries, establishing Siemens as a “fabric” of the industry program. A few years later, I accepted the role as Senior Director of Industrial Machinery and Heavy Equipment and spearheaded the global PLM industry strategy, and led the development of industry Catalyst solutions and campaigns, particularly for untapped markets. I’m happy to say we succeeded in achieving higher than average industry growth! In my current role as Vice President of Industrial Machinery and SMB Programs, I wear many hats. But I’m in my element delivering Siemens DISW Industrial Machinery solutions to help manufacturers develop competitive products and fill portfolio gaps and now with a laser-focus on SaaS-based solutions and creating effective GTM strategies, and business practices that support SMB customers achieve continual success.
