Rudi Kesting’s Expertise • He matriculated from Pretoria Boys High School, served an apprenticeship at the CSIR and obtained the NTC 5 technical certificate. • From 1969 he worked PACT as - Assistant Stage Manager; - Theatre Manager at the Arena in Doornfontein, Jhb; - Senior Stage and Company manager for Drama; - Organiser for General Productions; - Asst. Administrative Head for Ballet. • In 1977 he toured Israel and Greece with the Mercedes Molina Spanish Dance Company. • In 1981 he was partner in establishing Production Projects, one of the most respected suppliers of technical expertise in the country, and for tours as far afield as Russia, New York, UK, Europe and Hawaii. • Has staged close on 3,000 productions and events. • Was a member of the Southern African Institute of Theatre Technology since 1974, and as President from 1995 to 1999, he started the movement that resulted in establishing the TPSA. • Since 1988 he has served as member on the Performing Arts Technology Advisory Committee and as guest lecturer at Tshwane University of Technology. In 2005 he received their Lifetime Achievement Award. • In 2002 he participated in establishing the Technical Production Services SGB and obtained the MAPPP SETA OBIA Certificate • In 2006 he was appointed to the Events & Technical Services Task Team, set up by the Dept of Arts and Culture, to lead the project on Compliance and Quality Assurance • Still says that one day he’ll get a real job! In 2015, at last, I got a real job! Production Projects joined the stable of services offered by Jacaranda Events, and I was employed on an SLA as Consultant to develop Production and Jacaranda offerings, but the relationship went sour. Ah, well, that didn't work out. So revert to what we do best: staging spectacular Production Projects Events!
