Sam Kernaghan’s Location Committee For Sydney, 27/680 GEORGE ST, Australia
Sam Kernaghan’s Expertise I am passionate about creating social impact in the context of a changing climate. I have been fortunate over the past 20+ years to co-create and deliver multiple philanthropic investment programs, working with communities, government, banks and business to create opportunities and reduce risk in the climate transition. Since working in post-tsunami Sri Lanka in 2006, I have collaborated with more than 50 cities across Asia, New Zealand, Australia and the US, to build resilience to growing economic, social and environmental shocks and stresses. At the Committee, the Resilience Program has enabled research and advocacy on adapting to growing flood risk, led “Decarbonising Sydney” a report which sets out the pathway for Sydney to meet its 2030 and 2050 carbon reduction goals, and co-created a plan to make Sydney “Nature Positive”.
