Sam Rees’s Expertise Based at Swansea University I am the lead technician on the Seagrass Ocean Rescue project, working to restore seagrass meadows in South Wales using our self devised restoration methods, in conjunction with Project Seagrass, WWF and Sky Ocean Rescue. This project is the first, and currently largest project restoring seagrass with 1.5Ha currently planted. Previous research topics include: Methodology of Baited Remote Under Water Video Systems (BRUVS) in low visibility Acoustic camera use (ARIS) Benthic species settlement on artificial structures Mapping of fish spawning grounds Initially my career focused on aquatic husbandry as a Public Aquarium Curator, however wanting to allow my skills and creativity to flow I created my own business SCR Aquatics, focusing on ecosystem based ponds in the UK; www.scraquatics.co.uk Future Goals My current career development is focus on Project Management of conservation projects.
