Sean Park’s Expertise A goal without a plan is just a wish. So, when I was an undergrad, I devised a 30-year career plan that would guide me, step-by-step and skill-by-skill, towards my goal of leading a large company. That’s because my ambition was, and still is, to have a direct hand in creating and scaling the positive impact that businesses can make in this world. It is also the reason why I have invested 15+ years of my career with Google. I’m currently leading YouTube marketing for Asia Pacific. This role combines two of my greatest passions: technology and innovation, as well as branding and marketing. My journey as a Googler has been varied and fulfilling — I started with product marketing in Korea, went regional to lead APAC marketing for media and platforms (YouTube, Google Display Network and DoubleClick) based out of Japan, and headed global YouTube product marketing from Google headquarters in San Bruno, USA. I relocated to Singapore in 2013. Before Google, I spent time with Bain & Company, Korea Thrunet and Procter & Gamble in my native Korea. In my personal capacity, I’m proud to be part of XA Network, a technology leaders’ investment network dedicated to helping Southeast Asian startup founders turn their ideas into impact. For leisure, I’ve picked up gardening (trying to grow a durian tree in my backyard) and barbequing skills from YouTube videos. I also enjoy traveling and experiencing different cultures.
