  It is with great joy that I re-join the team at IRCOM in the role of Executive Director. IRCOM is a place of the heart. We work in the same place that our newcomer families live - we form strong connections and build trusting relationships that underlie the efficacy of the IRCOM Model. The UNHCR states that we are approaching over 100 million displaced peoples world-wide, so welcoming refugees is even more critical. For the last year I was fortunate to work at a close partner of IRCOM, Mosaic Newcomer Family Resource Network. There I worked with a wonderfully skilled team to support family programming as well as new mental health promotion programming, for newcomers to Canada. Prior to this, I was the Associate Executive Director at IRCOM, located in the heart of the inner-city of Winnipeg, providing transitional housing and wrap-around settlement supports to newcomer families. A team player, I worked closely with and supported the Executive Director in providing leadership to the senior management team, building strategic partnerships, implementing and managing organizational change, and nurturing organizational excellence. While at IRCOM, I oversaw key operational functions of IRCOM, including eight distinct program streams, research and evaluation and psycho-social supports. With the leadership team, I supported human resources and financial administration. As the lead for one of IRCOM's four strategic priorities, I have been grateful to receive support from Indigenous partners in IRCOM's journey of truth and reconciliation. In 2015-6, I was the Interim Executive Director at IRCOM, a challenging but infinitely rewarding experience. Our talented team was able to successfully open a second housing complex, effectively doubling our operations. I have also worked as a Sessional Instructor at the University of Manitoba, a project coordinator, community facilitator, researcher and evaluator, trainer, crisis counsellor and youth worker. I am passionate about working in the sector with newcomers to Canada who bring incredible talents, knowledge and skills to our diverse country. I am a registered Social Worker, have a Master of Social Work degree from Carleton University and an undergraduate degree in Bio-Psych. from McMaster University.
