Simon Lucas’s Expertise Highly experienced design leader, creative director and producer with 22 years of professional experience creating world-class product design, developing compelling stories (for the big and small screen) and championing engaging play experiences for children on a global scale. I strongly believe that as children, the toys we play with, the books we read, the games we master and the movies we watch, positively shape and influence our lives. Growing up, I was deeply inspired by the work of so many creative designers, writers, artists and directors. As a senior creative director and design leader, I am passionate about inspiring the next generation by developing new imaginative worlds, compelling characters and meaningful play experiences that children all around the world will fall in love with. Over the past 13 years at The LEGO Group I have created real impact as Creative Lead on some of the toy industries most successful properties. I have led, inspired and challenged multiple cross-disciplinary teams to create product innovation in core LEGO lines such as LEGO HERO FACTORY️, LEGO CASTLE️, LEGO NINJAGO️ the creation of LEGO MONKIE KID️ and more recently LEGO CITY️. Through consumer insights, consumer testing and stakeholder management I have developed holistic and commercial concepts which have a clear role in the LEGO portfolio and that delivers against the company’s strategic choices. The teams I have led at the LEGO Group and the product lines I have created have all been a key contributor to the company's growth over the last 13 years but more importantly they have inspired more play around the world, positively impacting children’s childhoods and creating memories for a generation.
