participated in career counseling seminars and mock interviews to assist students in building an IT career. • Directed operational aspects of office consisting of approximately 35 staff members,including payroll, human resources, management and reporting of $5 million annual budget, information systems, and accounts payable • Managed gift processing for the medical center, including the receipt and recording of gifts • Supervised operations staff of four full-time employees; interviewed all other applicants to the office to gauge technical proficiency • Worked closely with accounting on the management and reconciliation of operating and endowment funds • Administered a CRM database (Raiser's Edge) of approximately 135,000 constituent records and 360,000 gift/transaction records; produced reports and lists using both embedded reporting tools and Crystal Reports, for both internal and external clients • Converted the medical center from Millennium fundraising database (running on dBASE IV) to Raiser's Edge (SQL Server) database with a capital budget of $200,000, over an eight-month project period, following an RFP process to determine best vendor • Chaired multiple successful “Lean manufacturing” management events designed to increase organizational efficiency, eliminate waste, and deliver better customer service • Merged affiliate hospital's Paradigm (dBASE IV) database into medical center's overall fundraising database over a three-month period. • Responsible for all aspects of alumni and development databases, computing systems, management of gift processing, and internal and external financial reporting • Managed database of 30,000 alumni and friends; trained and advised office of 30 staff members on all supported computer applications; produced lists and other materials for telethons, direct mail solicitation pieces, and other mailings • Worked with the Finance Office and Dean's Office in the administration, reconciliation, and management of operating and endowment funds • Supervised one full-time employee and multiple work-study students; interviewed all applicants to gauge technical proficiencies • Liaision to the University's central Alumni Records Office, Office of the Recording Secretary, and multiple miscellaneous school offices • Successfully migrated two separate office fundraising and events databases into a single, Harvard-wide proprietary system, with minimal budgetary expenditure, over a period of approximately two years. • Processed gifts, including the handling of checks and credit card transactions, and maintained careful records and security for thousands of financial transactions annually • Serviced, updated, and maintained fundraising and alumni records in a relational database, including adding new records, address changes, and entry of biographical and control code information • Developed and maintained an internal website which detailed call reports, weekly gift receipts, and other solicitation-related materials.
