Steve Catt’s Expertise Field Service Engineer covering South East Kent & South London. Responsible for completing repair and preventative maintenance to gaming machines (Fruit machines, juke box, pool tables and computer operated CRT products) commissioned by public houses, social clubs etc. This role required trust and honesty as the equipment contained significant amounts of money.Responsible for the repair/service of white goods and electrical appliances. This was a self manage position, liaising with customers at all levels. Included money handling responsibility. I was also a key-holder for the premises.On site position covering all aspects of general carpentry including roofing, joisting, shuttering, studwork, plasterboarding, hanging doors, fitting locks and kitchen fitting. I was also fortunate enough to liaise with other tradesman enabling me to broaden my skills in the construction industry.Responsible for the repair and servicing of all domestic white goods and electrical appliances. This was a self managing position that required the liaising and booking of visits; generating required paperwork; delivering a full service repair; the ordering of parts; computer generated invoicing and collection of payment from customers.Responsible for the assembly of hand built high precision optical instruments assembled under laboratory conditions. Each instrument was built and tested to attain the N.A.M.A.S certification. An example of such an instrument would be the Micro Alignment telescope used to take highly accurate readings in an engineering enviroment. When holding this position I was awarded an acheivement for presenting an idea that would save the company a significant amount of time & money during the production of such products. This I believe led to the development of a new range of equipment being developed and manufactured.Duties included the soldering & assembly of navigational equipment and products for the MOD. Following promotion I was responsible for the complete assembly of RADAR equipment. This required a comprehensive understanding from design to assembly. From this work I gained a thorough knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) and build quality standards, work was inspected on a daily basis by the QA department.First job after leaving education, commenced as a YTS employee followed a few months after with full time employment. During my time there I learnt about TV & video technology. This became a customer facing role, followed by a progression to field based installation fitting frequency translator boxes. I then for 9 months installed aerial systems. Using ladders became part of my everyday duties working in this environment.Managing a small team to meet the demands of a large Student Village accomodation whilst balancing the requirements of the Landlord.Managing a private small block of flats, procuring repairs and maintenance, producing accounts and annual submission of accounts to Companies House, liaising with owners and tenants.Approachable highly motivated Manager quick to grasp new ideas and concepts, and to develop innovative and creative solutions to change. Enjoys a challenge and has thriven in transforming teams by way of developing strengths and building talent. Strongly believes that to meet expectation a team needs to clearly understand the expectation in order to achieve outstanding results. Hands on experience in a diversity of trades.A promotion within the company led to working in the design department designing and producing a fully working prototype gaming machine. This role required fabricating both metalwork and electromechanical assemblies to produce the product, and further more designing a "diverter assy" that was later patented. Skills included woodworking, metal fabrication, welding, laminating, routing, technical drawing and loom making. Parts that could not be manufactured in house, were produced by a third party. In this role I gained good practical and comunication skills, liaising with other external suppliers. The company was ISO 9001 accredited.Role, to assemble amusement gaming machines. Upon recognition of my broad skills I was fortunate enough to be offered a position in the R&D department, detailed above.
