More than 15 years served on submarines at sea, during ‘offline’ maintenance periods, as well as during major refits/shutdowns. Submarine Control Center Supervisor. Practical experience backed up by three 1 year, post graduate Certificate Programmes in Engineering Management, Maintenance Management and Logistics Engineering Management at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, and numerous relevant short courses. Extensive experience on submarine high pressure hydraulic and pneumatic systems. 12 years experience in the Oil and Gas industry as a Remote Operated Underwater Vehicle Team Supervisor operating, maintaining and troubleshooting High Pressure hydraulics, High Voltage electrical, electronic and Mechanical systems. Due to extensive submarine knowledge and skills I was deployed to TNSW and HDW shipyards in Germany in 2005 for 3 months and again in 2006 for 3 months, to oversee the conducting of Factory Acceptance Tests, and Harbour Acceptance Trials for the new South African Navy submarines. Conducted installation inspections for compliance with contractual standards, and quality. Extensive experience in planning, executing and managing maintenance on critical naval systems, managing a FRACAS (Failure Recording Analysis and Corrective Action System), conducting RCFA, RCM Analysis, FMECA and implementing a Condition Based Maintenance capability . Quick learner, very adaptable, not averse to hard, dirty work. In good health. Strong self-discipline, dedication, perseverance, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as a team member in a demanding environment where the margin for error is small, are attributes, gained in the South African Navy.
