I was enjoying The Book of Genesis at 4 years old, and it was I who introduced H.R.R. Tolkien to my family. I still read & learn quiet a lot, mostly Political Science, Archeology, Comparative Religion, etc. My last 2 years at East High School I worked in the Pattern Shop at Kreonite, Inc via the WAVTS Industrial Plastics program. In 1978, in Seattle, I worked in the Pattern Shop at Florocarbon Fabricators, Inc. In 1980 I entered The Cornish Institute of the Arts,(Seattle), graduating in 1984 with a BA in Music. I had many great instructors there & learned so much about Music,Jazz and the Arts. Gary Peacock was my biggest influence at Cornish. A chemist & former bassist with the Bill Evans Trio, his relation of harmonic theory to the science of physics was brilliant; his insistence that intention & contextual creation in & of a situation as basic to human 'being'​ was a concept that I still apply today. Mr. Peacock was amazing and I was so fortunate to have been a student of his. I thank God. After college and a short time in San Antonio,Texas as a statistician at a tax consulting firm, I returned to Wichita, Kansas. Sizing up the arts scene there, I started a career in Aircraft Pattern Making at Boeing in 1985, which paid for my college in 5 years. In 1990, a partner and I opened a printing shop, More 4 Less Printing, where I was the main printer and supervisor. Presently I am with Spirit Aerosystems & I now have over 23 years of Aircraft experience from Boeing, Raytheon/Beech & small shops, 7 years as a printer, & 50+ years as a professional Musician/Educator. In my life I've managed small businesses & supervised small crews in industrial & musical ventures (musical endeavors at times are more trying than 'work-crew'​ settings!), but to me, to learn is to 'be'​ ; to stop learning is to stop 'being'​, and then it's time to "lay down"​.
