  I'm a restoration ecologist utilizing principles based complexity and scale to inform my work. I have designed and successfully implemented over 10,000 acres of prairie, savanna, wetland, lake, stream, and shoreland projects. This framework and associated assumptions allow me design and implement both short and long-term ecological restoration strategies that successfully restore, enhance and reinforce desirable biotic configurations, including plant, animal and human communities. This framework also allows me to see the most important step in ecological restoration is restoring keystone process that reinforce healthy, functional, and provisional ecosystems. My field experience and research has allowed me to become a leader in innovative restoration strategies including restoration of keystone processes and conservation working lands, e.g. electron flow through multi-trophic levels. My work includes restoration of biotic grassland-savanna communities using biomass harvest (e.g. grazing, haying and fire) in ways that maximize social-ecological integrity.
