Stuart Mcrobert’s Expertise • Stuart is an experienced computing, team and project manager with more than 40 years' in-depth expertise successfully delivering leading edge computing environments (including HPC) for research and teaching at world-class universities. • Extensive system administration and development experience primarily with Linux (currently Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu distributions), Unix, BSD and Solaris, along with some Apple OS X and Microsoft Windows. • Comprehensive network experience and expertise with both wired (up to 100 GbE) and wireless networking. • Configuration and installation of compute and file servers (NFS and Samba), file systems (including ext2, ext3, ext4, ReiserFS, UFS, Veritas, XFS, ZFS), software and hardware RAID, backups, cloud computing, virtualization (chiefly KVM, QEMU, Virtualbox) and Containers (initially Solaris Containers & Zones, now Linux Containers (LXC) chiefly with Singularity and Docker images). Use of automated management tools to help consistently manage systems and monitor availability. Configuration and deployment of the Slurm workload manager across HPC CPU and GPU resources. • Invited speaker/presenter at conferences worldwide.
