Sue Thomas’s Expertise As a Director I was responsible for the management and oversight of the FNBO Credit Bureau relationships. These vendor relationships included – Experian, Equifax, Trans Union, Fair Isaac, Dun & Bradstreet and Lexis Nexis. This included understanding current product usage; contractual terms of usage; SLA adherence tracking; pricing usage; invoice reconciliation; internal expense tracking using PeopleSoft; Excel spreadsheets to track expense/volume variances and usage of external vendor product usage reports. The contractual process included working with internal attorneys & external vendor attorneys on contractual terms until an agreeable term/signature. Contract review took into consideration any business usage restrictions, compliance regulatory review/approval of proper usage, IT review and involvement in the implementation process, monitoring of the implementation, invoice reconciliation and usage variance. Contracts could include a Master agreement, a product schedule of usage, a SOW and/or a pricing addendum. As part of the relationship management there were regularly scheduled touch base calls or meetings for tracking of any projects, product enhancements, technology changes or product issues to resolve. Executive briefings were held once or twice a year with the vendor coming onsite for an extensive review of the relationship, projects in flight, new products being developed, technology updates and legislative/regulatory updates affecting the Banking and Credit Bureau industries. As a national banking institution FNBO was required to comply with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and other agency issuance on the “Interagency Guidance on Third Party Relationships”. Due diligence monitoring was performed on the six vendors mentioned above and the products used under those vendors. This compliance involved vendor due diligence tracking, monitoring of contractual concerns, review of applicable vendor policies for completeness, sufficient business recovery plans, information security SOC review, training programs, financial stability and any bad publicity causing vendor stability.
