Thomas Piper’s Expertise A long time ago a previous manager took a chance on an individual that had no recruiting experience, but was a pretty good at talking. That role started a journey in the Talent Acquisition/Talent Development space that I am still on today. The initial roles were high volume, fast paced, and quick turnarounds that my competitive side thoroughly enjoyed. Along the way, that person that was pretty good at talking, got pretty good at listening. I got the opportunity to hone those skills as an Account Manager in the recruiting space, working with different clients in different industries daily. The challenge of working with different clients and finding matches to their specific needs always filled my bucket. Eventually that led to 5 years in a new challenge working the Talent Development side of the industry in a completely new business segment. Appealing to the coaching side in me, it was amazing to build a new department and teach new employees the right way to go about the business. Now, I have moved back into the Talent Acquisition space with ICON - Growing our team and working to find the best candidates to support the business. Listening and learning each groups needs and find the candidates who not only fit those needs, but who want to continue to grow their path with ICON.
