Liaise with purchasers regarding efficient delivery taking into consideration the urgency of spare parts or stores to assigned vessels Guarantee defects follow up and close out Investigate and analyses causes of defects, takes corrective and preventive actions, in consultation with Technical Manager as and when required. Closely monitor and ensure compliance with statutory and class requirements for assigned vessels Investigate Accident and Report Conduct bi-annual vessel inspections and follow up as necessary inspection report deficiencies, observations from internal reports and relevant department reports Monitor vessels’ routine maintenance through AMOS and ensure work and records are up to date Arrange for all spares, repairs modifications and services to comply with statutory requirements and company standards Plan and attend dry-docking and supervise repairs and modifications to assigned vessels Work with ship board management team to ensure all third parties engaged in repair / modification activities onboard assigned vessels comply with company policy with regard to health, safety and the protection of the environment Develop, monitor and control running cost budgets Actively Participate in Emergency Response Team To follow closely on insurance claims pertaining to Hull , P&I etc. Actively Performing New registry of vessels, Flag Change, Name Change etc.Assist Superintendent with the preparation of dry dock repair specifications and attend the docking as required Monitor validity and liaise with Superintendent to initiate appropriate arrangement of vessels’ class and statutory surveys As directed by Supt. arrange for contractors to provide quotations and carry out cost effective repair work ashore and on board ships, Assist with the routine collection, processing and analysis of feedback from assigned vessels on performance, maintenance, repair, machinery, equipment failure and structural defects. Liaise with purchasers regarding efficient delivery taking into consideration the urgency of spare parts or stores to assigned vessels Assist Superintendent in guarantee defects follow up and close out Implement procedures laid out in the Company Quality manuals and other instructions as issued by management Closely monitor and ensure compliance with statutory and class requirements for assigned vessels Manage the performance and condition of assigned vessels in conjunction with the onboard management team to ensure that quality requirements are being fully met Conduct bi-annual vessel inspections and follow up as necessary inspection report deficiencies, observations from internal reports and relevant department reports Monitor vessels’ routine maintenance through AMOS and ensure work and records are up to date Identify areas for improvements and modifications and make recommendations for efficient operation of the vessels Arrange for all spares, repairs modifications and services to comply with statutory requirements and company standards Plan and attend dry-docking and supervise repairs and modifications to assigned vessels Develop, monitor and control running cost budgets To follow closely on insurance claims pertaining to Hull , P&I etc. Actively Performing New registry of vessels, Flag Change, Name Change etc. Design, manufacture and market lifting and pulling equipment based upon customers’ requirements (custom built), which have definite advantages in quality, performance, durability and safety in the international market for shipbuilding, marine and offshore, dredging, fishery and industry in general.); Brief Responsibilities Tracking and follow up of all the projects. Review user requirements(technical) to create project briefs. Preparation of Installation and Commissioning and warranty related reports. Familiar with health and safety policies-Also responsible for health and safety of subordinates. Responsible for conducting surveys, on completion of production. Liasion with Class (DNV, ABS, BV and IRS) for testing and approval. Responsible for Projects across the world(Jaya Shipping, ABG, Zamil, MIS, Cosco etc) for marine and shipping industry. Analyze, manage and track project costs against budget. Liaison with agencies/owners/sub-contractor. Select and procure equipments. Manage project progress, overall cost and quality of works. Responsible for the quality, timely dispatch and after sales service. Manage day-to-day project activities including service support on completed projects. Coordinate with various departments for infrastructure requirements. To administer and provide technical support to the subordinates in the daily operation needs. A massive rig building company, which does mega projects for Maersk, Sea Drill, UNESCO etc. It’s a major company having its business bifurcated and ventured into almost all leading trades like ship building, ship repair, oil rigs, construction and real estate; Brief Responsibilities Maintaining Records of vendors. Commissioning and maintenance of Marine and drilling equipments till vessel delivery. Sorting out issues pertaining to commissioning with engineering, piping, mechanical, Electrical, hull, outfitting, vendors, owners, safety, MOM (Ministry of Manpower),ABS, QA, QC, Moduspec, State oil etc. Dealing with cold and hot work permits. Preparing JRA (Job Risk Assessment), ensuring safety of workplace, preparation of step card and closing the test memos pertaining to equipments. Dealing with various vendors in Singapore and Overseas. Attending FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) for various equipments. Dealing with owners and higher managements for completing the project on time Preparing for elimination of problems in the future similar projects and to ensure the same has been upgraded. Equipments Commissioned: Emergency Generator – Caterpillar 16V26 BITA D 1860KW. Main Engine 8 no – Wartsila 16V26 – 5MV engines – 11KVA by Siemens including load sharing and synchronizing at iso and trip mode – DGPS, UPS, IRS, VMS etc. Drilling Equipments – BOP (Blow off preventor), draw works, HPU (High pressure unit) system, LMRP (Lower Marine Riser Preventor), mud vaccum and mud handling systems, finger bowl, cherry picker, choke and kill, ROV (Remote operated vehicle), Shell Shaker house etc; A P&O Ports Company, which has taken over the privatization of Chennai Port Trust. Handling the entire maintenance activities of the Yard. Responsible for Operation and Maintenance of all the yard handling equipments. Liaison with various vendors and OEM for technical needs. Erection and commissioning of Mobile cranes with loading and unloading equipment depending upon the Yard requirements. Analyze, manage and track project costs against budget. Improving Maintenance methods, practices and modern approaches Generating Maintenance Craft Procedures and performance reports. Routine, Preventive, Predictive & Shutdown overhauling Maintenance. Failure analysis / Route cause analysis / Troubleshooting / Handle issues regarding Hydraulic and PLC systems(all interlocks and safety systems) during Installation, commissioning and operation. Spare parts management & Inventory control. Man Management and Training of Engineers and operators Rope Changing, Maintaining Records of Rope and Brake Inspection.
