Currently, I'm identifying the innate restriction factors (including interferon stimulated genes and cellular non-coding RNAs) to regulate HBV infection, exploring the molecular mechanisms whereby HBV covalently closed circular DNA (cccDNA) forms and is maintained, and developing proof-of-principle tools to achieve functional cure of chronic hepatitis B, including single-chain variable fragment (scFv) targeting HBV surface antigen (HBsAg) and its derivatives to block HBV virion and HBsAg release.
